    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the abrasion resistance, water repellency and sliding performance without changing arrangement of each component by coating one or both of a pair of surfaces at a part to be detected with an abrasion resistant coating layer having a relatively small coefficient of friction. SOLUTION: Variation of magnetic field of a magnetic film 70 being inserted into a through part 22b in the base part of a carriage member is detected by means of a magnetic sensor 68 arranged on one side of the magnetic film 70. A magnetic layer 78 formed on the surface of the mother material layer 77 of magnetic film 70 is coated with a protective layer 79 on the side of the magnetic sensor 68. A primer layer 76 formed on the surface of the mother material layer 77 is coated with a fluororesin layer 75 on the side remote from the magnetic sensor 68. The magnetic layer 78 is bonded to the mother material layer 77 through an adhesive Ad and arranged with S and N poles alternately at a specified pole interval along the longitudinal direction. The protective layer 79 is hardened in order to ensure abrasion resistance. The primer layer 76 is formed to enhance the adhesion of the fluororesin layer 75 to the mother material layer 77.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operating quality upon mounting and dismounting of a recording head and eliminate any damage on contact surfaces of the recording head and a carriage due to misoperation or the like by making a biasing force of biasing means a part of an operating force of an operating lever when the recording head is to be dismounted. SOLUTION: Turning of a hook lever 33 causes a head holder 31 to move in rightward and leftward directions, and a biasing force of a contact spring becomes a pressing force, with which a recording head is pressed by the head holder 31 through the hook lever 33. Since a clearance X between the hook lever 33 and a hook cover in a thrust direction is set to be greater than a height Y of a cam portion of the hook lever 33, any interference is not caused between the hook lever 33 and the hook cover, which leads to no obstruction against an action of a second cam mechanism. When the recording head is to be mounted, first cam portions 316, 331 enable the recording head to abut against a positioning surface of a carriage and electrically contact with a flexible substrate.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent defective recording from occurring by ensuring a certain blade intrusion amount at all times by a method wherein a following-up member abutting against the guide way of a recording means or of a carriage is provided at the portion, to which a blade for wiping the discharge port forming surface of the recording means. CONSTITUTION:A cap 51 is provided so as to be opposite to the ink discharge port forming surface of a recording head under the state that a shiftable carriage, on which the recording head is installed, takes its home position in order to forcibly deliver the ink accepted in the cap 51 by the suction force of a pump 53. A blade 59 for wiping the discharge port forming surface of the recording head is provided. The driving of the pump 53 and the movements of both the cap 51 and the blade 59 are performed by a cam device 63. The blade 59 is mounted to a blade lever 535, which is pivotally supported about the axis 519 of the pump 53, so as to abut a blade roller 535A, which is a following-up member mounted rotatably on the lever 535, against the discharge port forming surface of the recording head in order to control blade intrusion amount.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a sheet processing device from being deformed upon attachment of a sheet feed device, by allowing a part to be supported formed on a device body to abut against the external wall of the sheet processing device. CONSTITUTION:A device body is provided with a one directionally positioning section 61 formed thereon adapted to be engaged with the shaft of a sheet feed roller so as to position a sheet feed device in a one direction of the device body, and also provided with an other-directionally positioning section 63 formed thereon and adapted to be engaged with a positioning projection 44 formed on a plate of the sheet processing device which supports the shaft of the sheet feed roller, so as to position the sheet feed device in a direction orthogonal to the above-mentioned one direction. Further, a part 65 to be supported, adapted to abut, against the external wall 73 of the sheet processing device, is formed on the device body, and accordingly, the load of the sheet feed device is supported by abutment of the part 65 to be supported against the external wall 73.
