SOLUTION: The laser beam machining device or the laser beam machining method is for performing optical abrasion work by irradiating an object 108 to be machined with laser beam flux 102, 106 from an ultra-short pulse laser oscillator 101 which continuously radiates an optical pulse having a large spacewise and large timewise energy density in a pulse radiation time of one picosecond or less. The device is constituted in a way that the optical abrasion work on the object 108 is performed by controlling the irradiation beam of the laser beam flux 102, 106 using a control means which is arranged in a place not affecting the temperature control of the ultra-short pulse laser oscillating part.

A leading end stopper 12a is provided above the part on the side of the free end 11b of the movable member 11 and a plurality of grooves 13a extending in the direction of a liquid flow channel 3 are formed on the surface on the side of the movable member 11 of the leading end stopper 12a. When the movable member 11 approaches the leading end stopper 12a by the generation of an air bubble in ink by the heating element 10, the ink of the region between the leading end stopper 12a and the movable member 11 is discharged to the outside of this region through the grooves 13a and the movable member 11 is rapidly displaced.

The movable member 31 is elastically bent toward the upstream part in a protruded state before the air bubble 40 generated by the driving of the heating element grows maximally and subsequently separated from the stopper 64 in a contraction stage of the air bubble 40.
