CONSTITUTION:A read means 7 reading code information given to the recorded medium 8, a recording means recording the picture of the recorded medium in a recording medium, a mark giving means giving the mark in correspondence with the picture recorded in the recording medium 8 and a storage means 10 storing code information in relation to picture record are provided. A code detection means detecting whether code information exists in the recorded medium or not is provided for the read means and the storage content of the storage means is altered in correspondence with the detection result of the code detection means. A micro film 8 which is thus generated and which cannot accurately be read owing to the dirt of a bar code is fitted to a retrieval machine after the film 8 is developed. Then, an address (n+3) to which is given is retrieved and displayed by a computer.

In the case of photographing the rejected object P, specified index information is inputted in the circuit 6 by a pen scanner 2 or a key input part 5. In such a case, the object P is not rejected but transmitted to a belt 14c.

    • PURPOSE:To retrieve a desired picture automatically by inputting the frame number of the desired picture to a storage circuit, and the retrieving the starting frame number of a film, which coincides with the number, by a counter. CONSTITUTION:When a cartridge is loaded on a retrieval device, pieces of retrieval information 1a and 1b entered into the flank of the cartridge are read by readers 20 and 21 and stored, and frame numbers are sent to a counter 50 while matter numbers are sent to and set in a counter 51. When the frame number N of a desired picture is inputted to an input circuit 52 to perform frame-by-frame retrieval, the frame number N is stored in a storage circuit 53. When the starting frame mark of the film is detected by a frame detector 8 during the forward feed of the film, the detector 8 sends a frame mark signal to the counter 50, which increases in count value. Whe the count value of this counter 50 coincides with the frame number of the desired picture in the circuit 53, a comparing circuit 54 sends a stop signal to stop the film and at this time, the desired picture is projected on a screen.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten a traveling distance where an information recording medium is carried at a low speed to prevent its cutting and to shorten retrieval time by altering the carrying speed of the information recording medium according to the interval of marks and changing a value of a coil diameter generating a trailing edge detecting signal according to the carrying speed. CONSTITUTION:The title device is provided with a speed changing means 48 which measures the interval of marks given to the information recording medium and changes the carrying speed of the information recording medium based on the measured interval, and a coil diameter detecting means 75 controlling the generation of the trailing edge detecting signal for the information recording medium. Namely, in response to the interval of the marks, the carrying speed of the information recording medium is changed and the coil diameter for detecting the trailing edge is altered according to said speed. If the carrying speed is high, it is slowed down with a comparatively large coil diameter, whereas if the speed is low, the trailing edge signal is generated with a comparatively small coil diameter to switch to a low speed. As a result, the traveling distance where the recording medium is carried at a low speed to prevent its cutting, and retrieval time can be shortened.

    • PURPOSE:To perform retrieval through using various films differing in mark format, by obtaining a retrieval mark count information by the combination of the output signals of a code mark detector and a mark detector. CONSTITUTION:When a code mark 22 on a film reaches the detection position of a code mark detector, light incident to an optical guide member 35 is cut off by, for example, the code mark 22 and an amplifying circuit 63 outputs a high-level pulse signal to set a flip-flop 73 by the pulse signal. After the code mark detector detects the code mark, the optical signal of a mark 21 is outputted from amplifying circuits 60-62 in the form of a pulse signal. When photoelectric converting elements 50 and 51 detect the mark at the same time, an AND gate 68 is opened and its output signal is counted as a mark count signal; and the contents of a counter are compared with an input frame number to retrieve desired information.
