SOLUTION: The dust feeder 3 for carrying dust thrown in a hopper 3a to a chute inlet 5a through a screw conveyer 4 disposed at a lowermost part of the hopper 3a and feeding it from the chute inlet 5a into a combustion furnace comprises an over-compaction checker 12 provided at a region for transferring the dust from the hopper 3a to the screw conveyer 4, for preventing the dust from being over-compacted at this region, a bridge breaker 13 provided at the chute inlet 5a for breaking bridges of the dust discharged from the screw conveyer 4 in the chute, a controller 14 for drive-controlling the over-compaction checker 12 and the bridge breaker 13, and means for detecting the temperature and the pressure in the combustion furnace 6. The controller 14 drives the over-compaction checker 12 and/or the bridge breaker 13, based on the detected temperature and/or pressure.

      SOLUTION: A plurality of rotary blades 15 are provided radially around a rotating shaft 13. A partition plate is arranged to separate a wind box 21 provided at a lower part of the fluidized bed into a combustion cell side wind box and a heat recovery cell side wind box to address a load varying operation. Air nozzles of the wind box provided at the lower part of the fluidized bed are so arranged that the air nozzles below the division wall are made different in the direction of delivery or delivery speed from other air nozzles thereby varying the circulation volume of the heat medium.
