    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape holding device for a segment capable of holding the segment from an outer side, holding the segments not only in a front row but also in the next row and on, and allowing segment holding bodies in a front row to hold the segment at the optimum position at all times.
      SOLUTION: Groups of segment holding bodies arranged in the peripheral direction are vertically arranged in two rows 14, 15 in the direction of a tunnel with the group of segment holding bodies as one row. As for the group 14 of segment holding bodies in the front row, a slide base 20 is arranged at the inner face side of a skin plate 8 to slide in the direction of the axis of a shield machine at a proper interval in the peripheral direction, the segment holding body 12 is provided at the inner side face of the shield machine of the slide base 20, and a traveling device for moving the group 14 of segment holding bodies in the direction of excavation together with the slide base 20 after excavation by the shield machine is provided. The group 15 of segment holding bodies in the next row is arranged and fixed to the skin plate 8.
