    • PURPOSE: To realize the optimum condition in which the light quantity of a reference light is equal to that of a sample light with a simple and easy opera tion by turning a 1/2 wavelength plate so that the relative polarization direction of the incident light to a polarization beam splitter can be continuously changed. CONSTITUTION: A polarization direction regulating device mechanism 15 consisting of a disc-shaped 1/2 wavelength plate 16, a cylindrical holder 17 for holding this plate, and a guide 18 is arranged between a laser generator 2 and a polarized beam splitter 3. When the holder 17 is turned with regard to the guide 18, the wavelength plate 16 is turned making a center of the axis along the advancing direction of an incident light L1. On the other hand, the ratio of the light quantity of a reference light L2 to that of a sample light L3 corresponds to the relative polarization direction of the incident light L1 to the splitter 3. Meanwhile, the relative polarization direction is continuously changed by turning the wavelength plate 16 with the holder 17. Thus, the light quantities on an interference fringe imaging surface 14 both at the time when the reference light L2 is intercepted and when the sample light L3 is intercepted are measured, and by turning the wavelength plate 16 until both light quantities become equal, the balancing of the light quantity can be regulated.

    • PURPOSE:To permit the recovered heat of adsorption to be used effectively for regeneration of a dehumidifying element by providing a heat exchanging element adapted to move into proximity with the downstream side of the dehumidifying element during its adsorbing action and with the upstream side thereof during the regeneration action. CONSTITUTION:A dehumidifier is provided with a dehumidifying element 3 for adsorbing water and a heat exchanging element 8a adapted to move into proximity with the downstream side of the dehumidifying element 3 during its adsorbing action and with the upstream side thereof during the regenerating action. During the dehumidifying action, air is drawn through an opening part 11 and passed through the dehumidifying element 3 for water adsorption. The heat of adsorption generated during this time is stored in a regenerator 8 located downstream when the air is passing therethrough. During the regenerating action, a fan 2 is made to rotate reversely to produce the air stream in the direction of the arrow B so as to give the heat amount stored in the regenerator 8 to the air.

    • PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for optical alignment adjustment and to greatly simplify the final adjustment work of an interferometer at the time of assembling this interferometer by integrating a polarization beam splitter and an optical element. CONSTITUTION: This optical element is provided with the polarization beam splitter which is a regular hexahedron and is capable of dividing the plane polarized laser beam emitted as incident light L1 from a laser oscillator 2 to reference light 2 and sample light L3. A quarter-wave length plate 4 adhered to a reference light passing face 3b, a quarter-wave length plate 6 adhered to a sample passing face 3c, a quarter-wave length plate 10 adhered to a synthesized light passing face 3d are stuck to the respective faces 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d of the polarization beam splitter 3 and a mirror 6 for reflecting the reference light and a polarizing plate 12 are stuck to the respective quarter-wave length plates 4, 10 by, for example, adhesive materials. As a result, the respective optical elements 3, 4, 7, 6, 10, 12 are integrated and the handling thereof as one piece of the element 21 as a whole is made possible.
