摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining Ii blood types by genetic test.
SOLUTION: The blood type i is formed by the mutation of a specific site of IGnT3 which is a new N-acetylglucosamine transferase. The Ii blood types are determined by the genetic test using these single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). Concretely, it is determined by examining whether 1006nt is "g" or "a" and/or whether 1049nt is "g" or "a" based on the base sequence of the cDNA shown by the sequence number 1 of the IGnT3 gene in a specimen separated from an organism.

SOLUTION: This N-acetyl-D-galactosamine transferase protein transfers N-acetyl-D-galactosamine to N-acetyl-D-glucosamine with respect to the β1,3 bond, wherein the protein preferably comprises specified two kinds of amino acid sequences. The method for testing the canceration comprises utilizing the nucleic acid for measurement, wherein the nucleic acid hybridizes with specified two kinds of base sequences or at least one of base sequences complementary to the above under a stringent condition.
