    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a measuring method which can measure correctly the height of projection in a direction which is orthogonal to rotation axis of a pair of magnetic head of a tapered drum comprising a taper periphery surface which is un-parallel to a rotation axis and projecting from the taper periphery surface in a 180° opposite position.
      SOLUTION: The magnetic head projection height measuring method of a tapered rotating drum comprises; a step which supports the tapered drum on a support stand having a reference axis, matches the rotation axis line is made as much as possible in agreement with a reference axis; a step for measuring from X direction orthogonal to the reference axis, a distance in the direction of X between a taper periphery surface of reference height position and a pair of magnetic head tips (that is, a pair of a projection heights of the magnetic head); a step to compute a lateral tilt of taper periphery surface in a cross section including a rotation axis line of a tapered drum and a pair of magnetic heads; a step to measure a tilt from a reference axis of rotation axis of the tapered drum from this lateral tilt of the taper periphery surface; and a step for rectifying the measured distance of the direction of X of a pair of a magnetic head based on the amount of the tilts of a rotation axis line of the tapered drum.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a height positioning method of a magnetic head by which head height according to the pressing amount to a base plate is obtained, and variation of adjustment accuracy can be reduced.
      SOLUTION: The height positioning method of a magnetic head includes; a step to fix a magnetic head element to a front edge of a magnetic head supporting surface of the base plate in the state that it is made to project from the base plate; a step to hold the base plate by abutting the magnetic head supporting surface excluding a reference plane and a front edge of the base plate to a receiving block having a reference plane, and the head element and the front edge of the base board is made to project from the reference plane; and a step to adjust the height position of the magnetic head to the magnetic head supporting surface by sandwiching the base plate between receiving block reference plane to press from the pressure line set at an opposite face side of the magnetic head supporting surface to deform it.
