      SOLUTION: This invention relates to a linearly sliding-type variable resistor 10, equipped with: a cabinet (first case 11 and second case 12) having a via hole 111; an operational shaft 13 which is threaded into the via hole 111 and can move in the axial direction; an insulating substrate 15 having the conductive patterns; a slider 16 sliding on the conductive patterns; a slider bracket 17 which maintains the slider 16 and can slide and move accompanied with a movement of the operational shaft 13 in the axial direction; and a forcing member 14 causing the slider bracket 17 to return to an initial position, characterized in that the slider bracket 17 maintains the operational shaft 13 through oscillation absorbing means which absorbs an oscillation in the direction perpendicularly intersecting with the axial direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary variable resistor which can remarkably improve the linearity between the rotating position of a rotary body and the output value, has a high detection accuracy, and has a versatility which makes it easily applicable to various wiring boards.
      SOLUTION: The rotary variable resistor is so structured that the main body 1 thereof may be mounted on a wiring board via a base 2. After mounting the main body 1 on the base 2, the rotary body 6 for holding a slider 7 is aligned and then a resistor substrate 3 is rotated with respect to the base 2 to adjust the initial position of the slider 7 with respect to a resistor pattern 4. The thus position-adjusted resistor substrate 3 is fixed to the base 2 by, for example, an engagement piece 8b of an installation board 8 which is an integral part of the resistor substrate 3. In this rotary variable resistor, a driving shaft 20 of a rotation operating member is engaged with an engagement portion 6a of the rotary body 6, and the rotary body 6 is rotate-driven by the driving shaft 20.

      SOLUTION: Terminal slide potions 42a, 43a and 44a are formed at one-side ends of patterns 42, 43 and 44 printed on a substrate 4, and external connection terminals 5 are bent substantially in a lateral U-shape to have slide contact portions 5b and 5c at tips thereof. The external connection terminals 5 are attached so that the slide contact portions 5b and 5c clamp the terminal slide portions 42a, 43a and 44a of the substrate 4. Consequently, soldering portions 5a of the respective external connection terminals 5 can be adjusted in position in a direction orthogonal to a surface of a mounting-destination substrate 7, so that the respective soldering portions 5a can be enhanced in coplanarity precision to easily mount the substrate on the mounting destination substrate 7 by reflow soldering.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable resistor which can obtain a long lifetime clutch mechanism or a slowdown rotation transmission mechanism, and also can vary a resistance value finely.
      SOLUTION: The variable resistor comprises the slowdown rotation transmission mechanism which comprises a plurality of gears which transmit the rotation of an operating member 15, a resistor member 7 having a rotor 11 for varying the resistance value and a rotation transmission member 13 for rotating the rotor 11. A plate-shaped clutch member 14 is arranged between a wheel 18 with gears located at the end of the slowdown rotation transmission mechanism and a rotation transmission member 13 to form a clutch mechanism. Since a rotation transmission and a rotation stop of the rotation transmission member 13 are performed by the clutch mechanism, an abrasion is smaller than hitherto, and the clutch mechanism and the slowdown rotation transmission mechanism can be maintained over a long term. The variable resistor with a high reliability can be obtained, and in addition, the slowdown rotation transmission mechanism composed of the plurality of gears is formed, whereby it is possible to vary the resistance value finely at a high slowdown ratio.
