After that, the cam follower 19 slides with the slide ring 25 on the flat portion 22a1 of the cam surface 22a at its rotation, the cam follower 19 is received by a step portion 25c of the slide ring 25 not to move into the concave portion 22a2, and the engagement is retained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a structure, which is short in its axial length, by juxtaposing NO.1 spring, which energizes a cam-follower toward a cam, and NO.2 spring, which connects a clutch in a resilient manner to the cam-follower in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A cam-follower 16 is pressed against a cam surface 15b of a cam 15 by means of a coil spring 18, whose one end is locked to a spline 11a via a clip 23. When a wheel shaft 1 is driven to rotate, the cam-follower 16 is pushed and moved toward the clutch 14 side by means of the cam surface 15b of the cam 15 which is given braking torque at the early stage of the rotation of the shaft 1. On the other hand, the cam-follower 16 is connected in a resilient manner to a clutch 14 in the axial direction by means of a spring coil 19 that expands or contracts in the axial direction. The coil spring 19 is arranged in a concentric manner with a coil spring 18. One end of the spring coil 19 is fixed to the clutch 14 while the other end is fixed to the cam-follower 16.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a short construction of an autofree wheel hub axially and provide it easily in a limited space at the outer end of an axle by arranging the first spring and the second spring in parallel. CONSTITUTION:When an axle 1 is driven to rotate, a pawl 15a of a cam 15 touches the turned parts 22a of a brake 22 to rotate a cam follower 16 relatively, and the movement of the cam follower 16 pushed by a slant face 15b2 towards a cluth 14 against the effect of a coil spring 18 is transmitted to the clutch 14 via a coil spring 19, and outer teeth 14a are engaged with inner teeth 10a of a main body 10. This construction permits to connect the main body 10 with an inner sleeve 11 to transmit power, and rotate the axle 1 and a wheel hub 5 in one body. For disengaging, it can be done only by moving a car reversely without driving the axle 1 for rotation.
