    • PURPOSE:To perform the effective regeneration of polishing liquid by a method wherein an electrolytic material is added in the polishing liquid to dissolve a polished removed fundamental component, polishing grains in the polishing liquid are settled to separate the fundamental component from a polishing grain component. CONSTITUTION:In the regeneration of polishing liquid used for polishing of a glass base substance and a ceramics base substance, especially a glass base substance and a ceramics base substance containing an Si component and/or an Al component, by first adding an electrolytic material, such as an electrolytic material made of alkali, an alkali hydroxide metal or an alkali carbonate metal, in the polishing liquid, a polished removed base substance component is brought into a dissolved state and polishing grains in the polishing liquid are settled. This method causes separation of a base substance component in the polishing liquid from a polishing grain component therein and removal of the base substance component in the polishing liquid through removal of supernatant liquid in which the base substance component is dissolved. Secondly, fresh water is added and liquid on the side where the fresh water is added is used as polishing liquid.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the surface of a glass plate which is little in undulation, and shallow and little in a flaw and a microcrack through a little quantity of polishing by specifying the hardness of a high hardness layer which functions as a surface layer for polishing and has an impregated abrasive grain. CONSTITUTION:A glass plate polishing pad has a soft layer 3 stuck to a high hardness layer 1 through a pressure sensitive adhesive double coated tape. The hardness of the high hardness layer 1 is set up to be more than Hs 90 in a hardness test (A type) prescribed by JIS:K6301. In addition, the hardness of the soft layer 3 serving as the backside of the high hardness layer 1 is set up to be less than 80 in a hardness test prescribed by JIS:S6050. The thickness of the high hardness layer 1 and of the soft layer 3 is set up to be 0.5 to 3mm or preferably 0.8 to 1.5mm, and the above thickness is desirable for the glass plate polishing pad to deform according to an irregular shape having a cycle larger than 50mm and not to deform according to the irregular shape having a small cycle being about 3 to 30mm.

The photodetector 3 is a photoelectric element to output with converting into an electric signal according to the light quantity of the image, having a respective element space S. Each photodetector converts the space S so as to make Q×S constant according to the light quantity of the image produced by the optical lens 2 in all zones on the optical sensor 1.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a surface of a glass plate where there is little undulation and damages and micro-cracks are shallow and few by laminating a hard sheet for grinding made of the organic resin containing diamond powder of the specified mean grain size as the surface layer for the grinding and a soft sheet with the cushioning quality as the layer of the rear surface. CONSTITUTION:A hard sheet 3 for grinding made of the organic resin containing diamond powder is laminated on a soft sheet 1 with an adhesive layer 2 to make the desired sheet for grinding. The diamond powder of fine grain size where the mean grain size is 3mum or under is used. If the diamond powder whose mean grain size is >=4mum is used. micro-cracks of >=1mum in depth are likely to be generated in the surface of the glass plate, and to remove this, further grinding of several mum becomes unpreferably necessary. The grain size of 0.1-2mum is more preferable to increase the working and removing speed and to make it difficult to increase the depth of micro-cracks.
