    • PURPOSE:To provide the substrate for a magnetic disk by bringing ceramic power injected by using high-velocity air flow into collision against a blank plate surface for the magnetic disk, thereby forming ruggedness. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic powder introduced together with the high-velocity gas from an introducing port 1 is injected together with the high-velocity gas from a nozzle 2 and collides against the surface of the blank plate 3 for the magnetic disk placed at a prescribed distance. As a result, microbreakdown rises on the blank plate surface and eventually, the ruggedness is generated. The uniform ruggedness is formed over the entire surface of the blank plate surface if the blank plate surface is scanned with the nozzles at specified time intervals. The glass of the blank plate is silicate glass contg. SiO2. as an aggregate component. The ruggedness of the blank plate surface maintains the max. value Rmax and reference value of the roughness at adequate values by a measurement method complying with the requirements specified in JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards). The uniform ruggedness having no directivity within the plane is formed on the blank plate surface according to blast using the ceramic power having prescribed average grain sizes.

    • PURPOSE:To improve slaking resistance and to provide unshaped refractories which can be stably applied by incorporating a binder contg. water glass and bentonite, hydration retarder and water retaining material into a calcareous refractory raw material which is an essential component. CONSTITUTION:For example, a spray coating material is prepd. by using a grain-sized adjusted CaO type refractory raw material, i.e., CaO type clinker as the essential component and incorporating the binder contg. the water glass and bentonite, the hydration retarder and the water retaining material such as fiber material therein. The bentonite powder to be used as the binder has the performance to easily adsorb and retain water when the water is added to the binder at the time of application, in addition to the role of the binder. The water glass cures at ordinary temp. as a binder and contributes to an improvement in strength and the adhesion to a wall surface. The hydration retarder is essentially required to prepare the spray coating material which can be stably used when the spray coating material is rested for several hours on account of a trouble, etc., at the time of the application. Boron oxide, oxalic acid powder, etc., are used for said material. The water retaining material prevents the evaporation of even the moisture necessary for curing of the binder by the abrupt evaporation of the moisture when the spray coating material is sprayed to >=150 deg.C wall surface, thereby obviating the degradation in the adhesive strength and the formation of the porous structure.

    • PURPOSE: To remove the particle layer from an ion exchange membrane easily and effectively, by immersing an ion exchange membrane having metal or metal compound particle layer on the surface in hydrofluoric acid, etc., and removing the particles with ultrasonic irradiation, etc.
      CONSTITUTION: An ion exchange membrane (preferably a fluorine-containing ion exchange membrane) having a layer of metal or metal compound particles composed of the oxide, hydroxide, nitride or carbide of a metal of the group IVA, IVB, VB or VIB, a noble metal, Al, Mn or Sb(preferably oxide of Zr, Ti, etc.) is immersed in hydrofluoric acid solution (5W50wt% concentration) or a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and other inorganic acid (preferably sulfuric acid)(the concentration of the hydrofluoric acid is same as above) for 1W48hr, and irradiated with ultrasonic radiation in an aqueous medium (preferably at 5W80°C) to remove the particle layer from the ion exchange.
