    • PURPOSE:To largely reduce cost via labor saving and largely improve efficiency by automatically and continuously performing the administrative processing such as charge calculation and slip issuance and the delivery and sort processing at a photograph developing laboratory. CONSTITUTION:A photograph bag 2 fed to a guide conveyor 1 is shifted to a conveyor 8 and passes in front of a bar code reading unit 3. The bar code reading unit 3 reads bar codes C1-C3 attached to the photograph bag 2 and sends the contents as readout signals to an arithmetic control unit 4. The arithmetic control unit 4 retrieves the shop master table in a data memory unit 5 based on the signal in response to the bar code C1 and reads out the corresponding shop data. The arithmetic control unit 4 also reads out the signals in response to the bar codes C2, C3, reads out the unit price corresponding to them, and calculates the charge. On the other hand, when the photograph bag 2 reaches a label issuing/sticking unit 7, a label is stuck by a command from the control unit 4, and the bag 2 is sorted to shelves 91- by a sorting unit 9 respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To vary the width of a printing ribbon simply with data width set by installing a plurality of ribbon sensors detecting the presence of the printing ribbon at each position and a logical circuit outputting a printing-ribbon completion signal when a ribbon absence signal is output from all ribbon sensors. CONSTITUTION:When a printing ribbon 30 in which a transparent member 30b is mounted to the completion section of a coloring section 30a is used, a changeover switch 38 is turned ON, and the signal levels of other input terminals of each exclusive OR circuit 36a-36e, 39 are set at an L level. When ribbon width B is approximately equal to the width A of a thermal printing head 26, all ribbon sensors output an L level signal. When ribbon width B is made largely narrower than the width A of the printing head 26, an output signal from the exclusive OR circuit to which the L level signal is input shows an L level when partial ribbon sensors output the L level signal. Consequently, an AND circuit 37 does not hold, and the output signal shows L level. When the transparent member 30b of the printing ribbon 30 is faced oppositely to the ribbon sensors, all ribbon sensors output an H level signal. Accordingly, the AND circuit 37 and the exclusive OR circuit 39 hold.

    • PURPOSE:To print while constantly maintaining the printing position of a thermal head and a platen in an appropriate positional relationship and ensure high-accuracy printing, by supporting the thermal head through a movable intermediate plate so that the head can be moved relative to a head support frame, and engaging a thermal head position adjusting body (which is fitted to the intermediate plate or the thermal head) to a platen shaft. CONSTITUTION:When designing, the center line of a U-shaped notched part 37a of a thermal head position adjusting body 37 is set to be located on a line passing through the printing position of a thermal head 33. Therefore, even when a platen 36 is shifted in a horizontal direction, the head 33 is followingly moved together with the position-adjusting body 37, so that the printing position of the head 33 can be located on a line normal to the platen 36. Accordingly, even when vibration or the like is generated in operation of the device, a printing operation can be performed while maintaining the thermal head 33 and the platen 36 in an appropriate positional relationship, and clear printing can be performed with high accuracy.
