      SOLUTION: This coin payment/reception machine 1 is provided with: a service port 2; a coin delivery part 4 for separating and delivering coins one by one; a judgement section 7 for judging coins delivered by the coin delivery part 4; a plurality of denomination-classified hoppers 26 for storing a plurality of denominations of coins; a batch coin storage part 28 for storing a plurality of denominations of coins in a batch; and a payment conveyance path 27 for conveying coins delivered from the denomination-classified hoppers 26. This coin payment/reception machine 1 is provided with an elevatable carrier 12 having a first holding part 13 for storing payment reject coins and a second holding part 14 for storing reception coins, and the service port 2 and the end batch coin storage part 28 are formed with openings for accepting coins from the carrier 12 along the elevating direction of the carrier 12, and configured so that the payment/reception processing of coins can be achieved without using any conventional vertical conveyance belt mechanism.

      SOLUTION: This printer comprises a conveying means for conveying a medium to be printed and a carriage that has the print head for printing on the medium and a sensor for detecting the presence or absence of the medium in a conveyance path and moves in a direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of the medium. The medium set in an insertion hole is fed irrespective of the presence or absence of information of a host controller, the carriage is moved, one side end of the medium is detected by the sensor, and then the position of the end of the medium is calculated. The feeding information is held. When information is received from the host controller and the feeding information exists, the moving distance of the carriage from a printing position to the designated medium for the information to a position for the printing is calculated, and then the printing operation is immediately started. When the feeding information dose not exist, the printer is made to be in a condition of waiting the insertion of the medium.
