    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect connection state of a telephone line in advance and to inform user about it. SOLUTION: At application of power of the facsimile terminal 10, a switch built in a voltage detection section 42 is closed to detect a voltage between telephone lines 34. When a switch 44 is open and the facsimile terminal 10 is not connected to the telephone line 34, since the voltage detection section 42 detects a prescribed voltage, it is discriminated that the facsimile terminal is not connected to raise an alarm tone or to make an alarm display, thereby informing user about it. In the case that the switch 44 is closed and the facsimile terminal 10 is connected to the telephone line 34, since the voltage detection section 42 cannot detect a prescribed voltage, no alarm tone is raised and no alarm display is made. Thus, the user can accurately comprehend the connection state to the telephone line 34 depending on the presence of the alarm tone and the alarm display or the like.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the reproducibility of recorded colors by correcting the correction data table of a setting means on the basis of Y, M, and C data of a read test pattern. CONSTITUTION: An image processing part inputs color gradation data, generated by converting the output signals of CCDs 31r, 31g, and 31b into 8-bit data through an A/D converter 32, to a shading correcting circuit 33. The circuit 33 corrects uneveness in optical illuminance among the color gradation data and variance in sensitivity among internal terminal elements of the CCDs 31r, 31g, and 31b and outputs the result to a γ correcting circuit 34. The circuit 34 alters gradations according to characteristics of ink and outputs the resulting data to a complementary color generating circuit. The circuit 35 converts the data into gradation data of cyan C, magenta M, and yellow Y as the complementary colors of the gradation data and outputs them to a masking circuit 36. The masking process data of the circuit 36 are corrected with the Y, M, and C data converted by the circuit 35. Then the output of the circuit 36 is processed by an UCR and black generating circuit 37 into recordable gradation data, which are printed at a color recording part 3.

CONSTITUTION: A scanner section 3 is used to read color image information from an original information and stores it to a color image information storage section 9. On the other hand, black/white image information is read from the original image and stored in a black/white image information storage section 10. After the facsimile equipment is connected to a receiver side facsimile equipment via a communication line, a MODEM section 6 receives selection information representing selection and reception of either the color image information or the black/white image information set by a non-standard function identification signal NSF from the receiver side facsimile equipment and a coding decoding section 8 codes the color image information or the black/white image information into coded image information based on the selection information. Then the MODEM section 6 modulates the coded image information with the information signal and the resulting signal is sent.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a device and an exchange from being damaged by rectifying a line current by a rectifier diode by connecting to a public telephone line. automatically adjusting a DC resistance value based on a rectified current value, and limiting the line current. CONSTITUTION:A line current detecting means 11 detects the current on a PSTN line. A relay 12 performs the switching of a telephone line and facsimile equipment. The rectifier diode 14 supplies by rectifying the line current to a DC resistance circuit 17. The circuit 17 is constituted of a Zener diode ZD1, resistors R1-R5, a capacitor C, and transistors TR1, TR2. Current limitation is applied to the current that flows from the diode 14 to the circuit 17 by a current limiting means 28 when voltages at both terminals of the resistor R2 exceeds the Zener voltage of the Zener diode ZD1. Therefore, a normal operation can be performed even when an automatic answering telephone set, an out-fitted telephone, or a telephone to use an AC power source is connected, and an abnormal line current can be limited.
