    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing structure which achieves sufficient reinforcement strength and reduces costs in reinforcing a part of a pillarlike structure that is buried in the ground. SOLUTION: The reinforcing structure 20 reinforcing the pillarlike structure 10 erected on the ground 200 includes a board portion 21 placed on the ground 200 surrounding the pillarlike structure 10, and a pile portion 22 which extends from the board portion 21 and is buried in the ground 200. This reinforcing structure 20 reduces a stress of bending, shearing, etc., on the pillarlike structure 10 to reinforce an underground portion 10a of the pillarlike structure 10 with sufficient strength. The reinforcing structure 20 requires the board portion 21 and pile portion 22 only, thus enabling cost reduction. In constructing the reinforcing structure 20 on the pillarlike structure 10, the underground portion 10a of the pillarlike structure 10 is not needed to be enlarged, which allows further cost reduction.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavation method which enables the accumulation of a mud cake and slime to be reduced without a decrease in excavation efficiency, in a normal circulation method.
      SOLUTION: Excavation equipment 10 comprises a boring machine 12 and a grout pump 16. Slurry, which is supplied from the grout pump 16, is introduced into the rod pipe 22 of the boring machine 12. A cutter head 24 is provided at the lower end of the rod pipe 22, and an excavation hole H is excavated. The slurry introduced into the rod pipe 22 is supplied into the excavated hole H from a lower end opening of the rod pipe 22. The grout pump 16 supplies the slurry to the boring machine 12. The quantity of the slurry supplied by the grout pump 16 is 0.5-2.1 m
      3 /min, that is, 1.5-5 times as large as the quantity of the slurry supplied in a conventional normal circulation method. Thus, the accumulation of the mud cake and the slime can be reduced without the decrease of the excavation efficiency in the normal circulation method.
