    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for tapping molten metal out of an electric furnace type waste melting furnace which eliminate the need for tilting a furnace body and prevent a large amount of metal from being discharged at a time when discharging the metal stored in the electric furnace type waste melting furnace, thus enabling a safe and efficient tapping operation.
      SOLUTION: The method for tapping molten metal out of an electric furnace type waste melting furnace includes melting metal-containing waste in the electric furnace type waste melting furnace 1, discharging stored molten slag 6 out of a continuous slag discharge opening 8, and tapping the molten metal 7 stored under the molten slag 6. The process of opening, using an opening machine 18, molten metal tapping holes 22a-22c provided at sides of the furnace body, tapping the molten metal 7 up to an opening level, then opening the tapping holes while lowering the opening level sequentially to the molten metal tapping holes 22b, 22c located in different positions from the molten metal tapping hole 22a, and then tapping the molten metal 7 up to the opening level is repeated to divide and tap the stored molten metal.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stable operation and decomposition of dioxin by raising the temperature of an exhaust gas.
      SOLUTION: A plasma-type ash melting furnace is operated such that a plasma power is impressed on a carbon electrode 4 in an inert gas atmosphere which has been blown into a melting chamber 1a as a working gas to generate a plasma arc between a base metal 2 and the electrode, followed by heating and melting the ash fed onto the base metal 2, and that the resultant exhaust gas is discharged to a secondary combustion chamber for recombustion. At the time of operation, a predetermined amount of air for heating the exhaust gas is blown into the melting chamber 1a from an air nozzle 21 for heating the exhaust gas, so that the concentration ratio of oxygen to carbon monoxide of the exhaust gas at the exit of the melting chamber 1a does not exceed 0.30, thereby combusting a portion of the combustible matters in the exhaust gas in the furnace.
