摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an olefin, which can selectively and efficiently produce an olefin having a larger number of carbon atoms than an alcohol, from the alcohol.SOLUTION: The process includes a formation step of forming an olefin having a larger number of carbon atoms than an alcohol at least by one, from the alcohol, wherein in the formation step, the alcohol is brought into contact with a catalyst for producing the olefin containing an oxide of at least one element selected from the group consisting of metal elements of groups 2 and 3, groups 5 to 9, and groups 11 and 12 in the periodic table, titanium, nickel, boron, gallium, tantalum, germanium, tin, lead and bismuth, at a reaction temperature of 300 to 700°C in an alcohol concentration of 5 to 100 vol.% at an GHSV of 5 to 1,500 h.
