    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a piezoelectric body element which suppresses an occurrence of cracks and is excellent in a mechanical strength and a piezoelectric characteristic. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing piezoelectric ceramics, the piezoelectric ceramics having the shape of a rectangular body or a rectangular solid are prepared and electrodes facing each other are formed on both main faces of the piezoelectric ceramics. Also, a DC voltage is applied between the electrodes to be polarized in the thickness direction of the piezoelectric ceramics. A length in the widthwise direction of the piezoelectric ceramics is 20 mm or more, and a thickness thereof is 4 mm or more. In the method for manufacturing the piezoelectric body element, a lead-out electrode led out from at least one of the respective electrodes to the side of the piezoelectric ceramics is formed.
