    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause fuel cavitation, even during needle lift from the initial stage of fuel injection in which the amount of needle lift is small.SOLUTION: The fuel injection valve 1 includes: a needle 2 which has a seat part 2a; and a nozzle body 3 including the needle 2 so as to be slidable, a seat position 3a to seat the seat part 2a, and a sack chamber 4 provided at the end of the nozzle body 3. The fuel injection valve 1 includes a communication hole 5 which unevenly distributes area of a fuel channel formed between the needle 2 and the nozzle body 3 in the downstream of the seat part 2a to induce oscillation of the needle 2 lifted, when the seat part 2a leaves from the seat position 3a. Force to be received by the needle 2 from fuel becomes unbalanced immediately after the start of lift, so that the needle 2 is lifted with oscillation. The needle 2 oscillates to bring the needle 2 close to an inner wall of the nozzle body 3, thereby causing cavitation there.
