摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a child seat detection device and a child seat detection method capable of accurately judging whether or not a child seat is installed on a vehicle seat with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A seat sensor 44 constituted by a plurality of cells 46 for partitioning a whole surface area of a seat cushion 40 to a constant area is buried near a surface in the seat cushion 40 of a vehicle seat 10. The respective cells 46 of the seat sensor 44 are so constituted that a current corresponding to a load flows when the load of a predetermined value or more is applied. In the case where CRS is installed on the vehicle seat 10, since the CRS is certainly fixed to the vehicle seat 10 by a seat belt, a load distribution applied to the vehicle seat 10 is maintained to an approximately constant value even if a lateral acceleration Gr of a predetermined value or more is generated in the vehicle. Accordingly, in the case where a lot of cells 46 in which a load Wij is largely varied in a reduction direction do not exist under the circumstance that the lateral acceleration Gy of a predetermined value or more is generated in the vehicle, it is judged that the CRS is installed on the vehicle seat 10.
