摘要： A load detecting device for a vehicle seat includes a supporting base adapted to be mounted on a floor of the vehicle, a plurality of load sensors arranged along a forward and backward direction of a seat for the vehicle on the supporting base, the load sensors including a load input portion, a deflection portion deflecting by a load and a deflection gauge measuring an amount of deflection, the load sensors detecting the load based on the amount of deflection measured by the deflection gauge, a connecting member connecting the load input portions, a seat supporting member connected to the connecting member and adapted to support the seat for the vehicle, the seat supporting member transmitting load to the connecting member, and a stopper preventing deformation of the connecting member in a vertical direction of the seat when load which exceeding a predetermined value is applied to the connecting member.

摘要： An apparatus for determining seat occupancy includes a seat for a vehicle, which has a seating portion, right and left load detecting portions arranged between a vehicle floor and either one of a front portion and a rear portion of the seating portion, the right load detecting portion detecting a load applied to a right side of the seating portion, the left load detecting portion detecting a load applied to a left side of the seating portion, and a seat occupancy determining portion calculating a seating load of the seat on the basis of the detected loads and determining the seat occupancy of the seat by comparing the seating load with a predetermined threshold value, wherein the seat occupancy determining portion varies the predetermined threshold value depending on of a difference value between the loads applied to the right and left sides, respectively, of the seating portion.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat occupancy determination apparatus and a seat occupancy determination method, which can accurately inform an occupant of a seating state of a vehicle seat.SOLUTION: When the vehicle seat is determined to be in "an adult-seating state", an indicator lamp 8 is turned on to indicate that an airbag is in a standby condition. Subsequently, when a seating load WS, which is lighter than a second threshold load W2, continues at the vehicle seat for a second threshold time T2 with a buckle switch 6 of a seat belt device off, the vehicle seat is determined to be in "a non-occupant-seating state" to turn off the indicator lamp 8. In "the adult-seating state", when the seating load WS, which is lighter than the third threshold load W3 which is lighter than the second threshold load W2, continues at the vehicle seat with the buckle switch 6 off for a third threshold time T3 which is shorter than the second threshold time T2, the vehicle seat is determined to be in "a temporary determination state" to turn off the indicator lamp 8. When the seating load WS becomes equal to or heavier than a fourth threshold load W4 within a fourth threshold time T4 after the determination of the temporary determination state is given, the vehicle seat gets back to be in the adult-seating state.
