CONSTITUTION: Sodium polyacrylate (2.0W10.0wt% concentration) is mixed with aluminum hydroxide (0.05W0.5wt%) and a desired drug for transcutaneous absorption, e.g. alprenolol (a β-blocking agent), pronidin (a hypotensor), methylephedrin (a bronchodilator), etc., and if necessary with additives such as moisture retainer, dispersing agent, shape retaining agent, etc. homogeneously, to obtain a hydrogen. The gel is applied to the surface of a gas-permeable substrate (e.g. flannel, nonwoven fabric, etc.), and covered with a releasable film. The film is peeled off before use, and the hydrogel layer is attached directly to the skin, etc.
