    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating mat which is equipped with both elasticity in its width direction and proper heat insulation properties in its thickness direction, and a manufacturing method for the heat insulating mat.
      SOLUTION: This inorganic heat insulating mat (6, 106, 206 or 306) with a length (p), a width (q) and a thickness (r) comprises: front and back surfaces (PQ) and (PQ) which are elongated in its lengthwise direction (P) and its width direction (Q); a long side surface (PR) which is elongated in its lengthwise direction (P) and its thickness direction (R); and a short side surface (QR) which is elongated in its width direction (Q) and its thickness direction (R). Inorganic fibers (1) are laminated in the width direction (Q). Characteristically, a laminated surface (L) of the inorganic fibers (1) is at least partially inclined with respect to the log side surface (PR) of the heat insulating mat.
