    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge high-voltage residual electric charge connected to facing electrodes easily at a stroke by arranging the electrodes opposite to each other at a specified distance at both ends of a natural air column in a cylinder, and passing laser beams through the axis of the air column to ionize the atmosphere along a laser beam passage. SOLUTION: High-voltage side and ground side electrodes 3, 4 are arranged opposite at a distance which is normally incapable of spontaneous discharge at both ends of an air column in a cylinder 2, and after cutting off a high- voltage generator, the electrostatic capacity 1 of a cable and the high-voltage generator is connected to both the electrodes 3, 4. Laser beams are passed through an axis of the air column from a laser generator 5. The atmosphere of a laser beam passage is therefore ionized, and withstand voltage is lowered in a marked degree for discharging the electric charges of the electrostatic capacity at a stroke. The ionization of the atmosphere is further accelerated by this discharge to completely discharge almost in a state of short circuit. As a result, a high-voltage discharge switch is obtained that can discharge the high voltage electrostatic capacity with a simple, low-cost equipment to prevent spread of danger.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily find a pull switch even in a dark place by fixing a pilot lamp to the tip of a string of a pull switch, winding a power source cord around the string of the pull switch or attaching the cord to the string, connecting the cord to the pilot lamp, and connecting the power source cord to an upper power source. SOLUTION: As a pilot lamp 3, for example, liquid crystal is used, and the pilot lamp 3 is fixed to the tip of the string 1 of a pull switch. A power source cord 2 is wound around the string 1 of the pull switch or attached to it and connected to the pilot lamp 3. The power source cord 2 is connected to an upper power source and fixed to the string 1 of the pull switch. Even in a dark room at midnight, by lighting the pilot lamp 3, the position of the string 1 of the pull switch is easily confirmed. Only the power source cord 2 can also be used without use of the string of the pull switch.

    • PURPOSE:To properly check a battery in a short time by charging and discharging a battery to be checked with a constant current, detecting fluctuation in voltage at the terminal of the battery, and measuring the magnitude of fluctuation in the terminal voltage. CONSTITUTION:A battery 2 to be checked is charged using a constant current source 1. A current is intermittently passed through a load resistance 5 by means of an oscillator 3 and a driver 4. While no current flows through the resistance 5, the battery 2 is not charged, whereas when the resistance 5 is connected the remaining part of the current flowing through the battery 2 is made to flow through the battery 2. As charging and discharging operations are repeated by thus turning the resistance 5 on and off, the voltage at the terminal of the battery 2 rises at the time of charging and lowers at the time of discharging. This fluctuation in voltage at the terminal of the battery 2 is amplified by a battery voltage fluctuation amplifier 6, rectified by a rectifier 7 and read using a dc voltmeter 8.
