The winding drum 2 and the supporting frame 30 are divided into at least two parts, respectively. An inside diameter part of the winding drum 2 is integrally fixed by nipping a winding barrel 51 of the existing winch, and the supporting frame 30 is connected with and is fixed on a supporting body across the winding barrel 51 of the existing winch.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile construction machine provided with a throttle mechanism, which can prevent a wire for narrowing down from being loosened and detached from a pulley, and also from becoming entangled with surrounding members even when a penetration speed of an excavation rod increases or when the speed during the pull-out of the excavation rod decreases while the narrowing-down mechanism is not in operation, so as to always secure the normal operation.
      SOLUTION: The construction machine M is provided with a mechanism S, wherein the wire 4B is winded between an auger machine 3 attached to a leader and a leader base 1a via the pulley, for narrowing down the wire, and has a limit switch 9A and a control device 19. A weight 7 is suspended and retained at a halfway portion of the wire 4B to freely move up and down, and the limit switch 9A detects the height of the weight 7 at a first reference position L1. The control device 19 controls the rotational speed of a winch drum 6B. The winch drum 6B increases the winding speed when the weight 7 is lowered to the reference position L1 while penetrating the excavation rod, and decreases the winding speed when the weight 7 is lowered to the reference position L1 while pulling out the excavation rod.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground improvement method eliminating a need for an attaching/detaching mechanism for making a leader take a reaction force and eliminating a need for a driving-back process of an outer pipe before discharging gravel.
      SOLUTION: A double pipe 1 comprising an outer pipe 2 and an inner pipe 3 is supported by a lifting unit 6 which is ascendable/descendable along a leader of a construction machine. The double pipe 1 is inserted into the ground G to a predetermined depth while the outer pipe 3 is rotated by a rotation mechanism 7 in the lifting unit 6 (A). Then, the double pipe 1 is pulled out by a predetermined distance while reversely rotating the outer pipe 2, and the gravel M in the inner pipe 3 is discharged into the ground G, so that a gravel pillar P1 may be formed (B). After that, the double pipe 1 is pressed down by the intermediary of the rotary unit 6 by winch operation while reversely rotating the outer pipe 2, so that an enlarged-diameter pillar P2 may be formed (C). Then the pulling-out and pressing-down operation of the double pipe 1 is repeated to form the enlarged-diameter pile P comprising the continuously arranged enlarged-diameter pillars P2 in the ground (E).
