    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel depressant for periodontal disease bacteria, a novel candida depressant, and a novel composition for an oral cavity useful for prevention of oral cavity diseases in the aging society.SOLUTION: It is found that extracts of specific plants (Azadirachta indica extract, Cynara scolymus extract, and Sapindus Trifoliatus extract) or proteoglycan have excellent periodontal disease bacteria depressant effects. The extracts of Azadirachta indica, Cynara scolymus, and Sapindus Trifoliatus also have depressant effects to candida. Thus, the novel depressant for periodontal disease bacteria, the novel candida depressant, and the novel composition for an oral cavity are provided.
