    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surface treatment of support frame for shadow mask, which can form an oxide film having the equal characteristic with a photographic film and which can eliminate the photographic film so as to simplify the work, in a support frame made of the stainless steel material. SOLUTION: An oxide film of Cr2 O3 is produced on the surface of a support frame 1 in annealing for improvement of the magnetic characteristic of a color cathode-ray tube. For example, in annealing for elimination of the distortion due to the working in pressing the support frame 1 and for lowering of the concentration of the contained carbon, the mixture gas of H2 +N2 , in which a small quantity of moisture is contained, is supplied into an annealing surface so as to produce the oxide film of Cr2 O3 on the surface of the support frame 1. This support frame 1, to which the surface treatment is performed, is welded to a shadow mask 2 and a spring 3 for assembling, and assembled as a shadow mask structure in a color cathode-ray tube. A color deflection error of the shadow mask 2 is thereby reduce so as to obtain the image of high quality.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the adjustment standard values on a monitor and keep the quality of properties of cathode-ray tubes constant by inputting a relation expression between a cathode-ray tube characteristics an fluctuation factors which affect the characteristics into a control system and inputting actual measured values of the factors at the time of adjustment. An adjusting operator so adjusts the position of a deflecting yoke as to keep the actual value 11a of the electron beam within the range 12.

SOLUTION: This is a shadow mask color cathode-ray tube which has a shadow mask 5 equipped with a curved main surface 13 and a skirt part 14 bent at roughly right angle to the main surface 13, and the main surface of which consists of a perforated region having many electron passage holes 15 and an unperforated region 17 not having holes, being provided in a band form at the periphery of the perforated region 16. Each of the longs-side region 20 and the short-side region 21 of the skirt part 14 is provided with plural slit- shaped or round stress absorbing holes 19, and the density of arranged plural stress absorbing holes 18 is changed so that it may becomes larger as it comes closer to the vicinity of the corner part 22 from roughly the center of the long- side region 20 or the short-side region 21.

    • PURPOSE: To enable automatic measurement of various kinds of cathode-ray tubes by placing, on. an X-Y table, mounting-lug measuring parts and Z-point measuring parts provided at a fixed distance to each other, and measuring the height of a Z point through conversion of the difference in height between the Z point and a mounting lug for each kind. CONSTITUTION: Cathode-ray tubes 1A, 1B are placed on a panel support 7 and positioned by means of a roller 9, and then a Z-point measuring terminal 18 is moved to a predetermined position by means of an X-Y table 15. Next, a vertically moving plate 12 is raised by an air cylinder 11, and the heights of four fixed points of the tube 1 are measured by means of the terminal 18 to determine the kind of the tube. The plate 12 is then lowered, a mounting-lug measuring terminal 17 is set in the lug hole for the kind determined, and the plate 12 is raised again to measure the height of a lug. The difference between the heights measured by the terminals 17, 18 is converted by a conversion circuit to that for Z point and a mounting lug, and compared with a stored height difference for that kind to determine whether or not the tube is conforming. Therefore, the height of the Z point of the multiple-size tube 1 can be measured automatically.
