摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the titled electrode material having an extremely high electrochemical catalytic activity together with a high corrosion resistance, which consists of the amorphous alloy containing P and/or Si Ir and/or Ru in predetermined ratios, the balance consisting of at least one element selected from the group consisting of Pd, Rh and Pt. CONSTITUTION:The titled electrode material consists of the alloy containing 10-40at.% of P and/or Si and 20-80at.% of Ir and/or Ru, the balance substantially consisting of not less than 10at.% of at least one element selected from the group consisting of Pd, Rh and Pt. To produce the above-mentioned electrode material, a raw material 4 having the above composition is fed through a feeding inlet 1 together with an inert gas for preventing the oxidation of the material, and is introduced into a heating furnace 5 through a nozzle 3 of a quartz pipe 2, where it is melted by heating. The molten material is then injected by a compressed inert gas onto the outside peripheral surface of a roll 7 which is rotating at a high speed of 1,000-10,000r.p.m., thereby obtaining the objective electrode material in the form of an elongaged thin plate. Said amorphous alloy has excellent mechanical properties such as a Vickers hardness of about 400-600, a tensile strength of about 120-200kg/mm. , and the like.

CONSTITUTION:A thin film of an Fe-Cr-Ni-P-C alloy in 20-30mum thickness is placed on an Ni plate as a substrative metal, and liquid paraffin is interposed in-between. A high-energy density beam such as a laser and an electron beam is irradiated in a vacuum vessel to partially melt the alloy thin film, and a molten thin film of the alloy is formed while forming an alloy of both Ni and alloy between the substrative Ni and the alloy. Or the third metal which can be easily cemented to the surface of the substrative metal is previously plated on the surface of the substrative metal, the alloy thin film is placed thereon, and a beam is irradiated. The energy density and irradiation time are controlled, and an amorphous Fe-Cr-Ni-P-C alloy coating layer having excellent corrosion resistance, toughness, and strength is formed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To activate remarkably an amorphous metal surface, by diffusing and infiltrating zinc into the amorphous metal surface, and leaching selectively the infiltrated zinc with an alkaline solution or acid solution. CONSTITUTION:Zinc dust and an amorphous metal including one or more metals selected from metals of Group IVa, Va, VII andIb of the Periodic Table of the Elements are heated at a temperature range between 200 deg.C and the crystallization temperature of the amorphous metal so that the zinc is infiltrated into the surface of the amorphous metal. Then the amorphous metal is immersed in a 1-50wt% (especially, 10-40wt%) strength alkaline solution or acid solution to leach selectively the infiltrated zinc so that the surface of the amorphous metal is activated. As an alkali use is made of sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and lithium hydroxide, and as an acid use is made of inorganic acid such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, and organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid.

摘要： PURPOSE:To form a uniform surface covering metal layer with an arbitrary composition, by producing a metal layer on a substrate metal material, and irradiating a beam having a controlled high energy density. CONSTITUTION:A metal powder having a prescribed composition is applied on a substrate metal material 1 for example of carbon steel or the like, or metals having a prescribed composition are plated or spray-coated on the material 1, so that a metal coat is formed. Then a high energy density beam 2 such as a laser beam, an electron beam, etc. having a suitable energy density is irradiated, while the beam 2 or the substrate metal material 1 is moved. By this beam scanning, the volume of the metals to be melted is controlled, and the surface covering metal layer and part of the substrate metal 1 with a prescribed thickness are melted, alloyed, and homogenized. Further, by controlling the volume of the metals to be melted and the melting period, elevation of temperature of the surrounding metal is avoided, and controlling heating of the melted part, quenching of the melted part due to the heat conduction to the adjacent metal can be realized.
