    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a large-sized lens which can be driven by a low voltage with a simple structure.
      SOLUTION: The liquid crystal optical lens is equipped with a first substrate 111 having a transparent first electrode 21, a second electrode 22 having a hole, and a first liquid crystal layer 311 which is stored between the first substrate 111 and the second electrode 22 in a manner to oppose the first electrode 21. A transparent insulating layer 114 which sets the distance between the second electrode 22 and the first liquid crystal layer 311 is arranged between the second electrode 22 and the first liquid crystal layer 311. The alignment control of liquid crystal molecules can be performed by applying a voltage between the first and the second electrode. A transparent high resistance layer 117 is arranged inside the transparent insulating layer 114.
