摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To upgrade the contact efficiency with a photocatalyst and the decomposition process efficiency of a chemical compound by installing a gas-permeable planar photocatalyst carrier which bears a photocatalyst on the surface, in a device for performing the decomposition process of a volatile organic compound by emitting light to gas containing the volatile organic compound in the presence of the photocatalyst. SOLUTION: An aeration blower 1 and a dissipation tower 2 pump up underground water containing a volatile organic compound and discharge the volatile organic compound from the underground water into a gas phase by aeration or dissipation. Further, each unit B1-B4 emits light to the gas containing the volatile organic compound in the presence of a photocatalyst and decomposes the volatile organic compound. In addition, an exhaust gas treatment tower 3 and a circulation pump 4 make a decomposition product of the volatile organic compound harmless. A gas-permeable planar photocatalyst carrier 5 which bears the photocatalyst on the surface, is installed horizontally in each unit B1-B4 and a light omission device is mounted on the upper or the lower side of the carrier 5. Thus the volatile organic compound is decomposed when the gas passes through each unit B1-B4.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose sulfur hexafluoride by irradiating a gas contg. sulfur hexafluoride with light in the presence of a photocatalyst to decompose the sulfur hexafluoride. SOLUTION: A branch pipe 1a is provided to a waste CVD gas passage 1, a valve 1c is closed when the waste gas contg. sulfur hexafluoride flows in the passage 1, and the waste gas is introduced into a header 4 from a passage 3 by a pump. The waste gas is branched into several branch pipes, e.g. ten, in the header 4 and introduced into photochemical reaction units 5 each provided with a photocatalyst, and the sulfur hexafluoride in the gas is exposed to the UV of specified wavelength, passed through the unit 5 while in contact with the photocatalyst and decomposed. The gas purified by the decomposition of sulfur hexafluoride is again collected in a header 6, passed through a passage 7 and a branch pipe 1b and returned to the passage 1. The waste gas discharged from a CVD device and contg. sulfur hexafluoride is highly purified in this way.

By this constitution, a harmful volatile org. compd. in the gas to be treated is efficiently optically decomposed.

Subsequently, an excess of ferric sulfate is separated from the mixed soln. in the crystallization tank 40 to obtain non-excess mixed soln. Further, hydrogen peroxide and sulfuric acid are added to the non-excess mixed soln. to regenerate the ferrous sulfate in the mixed soln. to ferric sulfate.

Since releasing of the cooled and solidified abrasives and recovery of the empty formwork followed by the releasing are performed automatically, automatic and continuous manufacturing of the abrasives can be achieved. Then, uniform abrasives of high quality can be continuously manufactured by properly synchronizing the respective mechanisms and properly regulating a speed at which the formwork is transferred.

In this way, harmful volatile organic compounds in the treatment liquid are photo-decomposed efficiently.
