    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and a device of an electrostatic dust collector for restraining generation of ozone, while securing the dust removal in the electric dust collector. SOLUTION: This electrostatic dust collector 15 has an electrification part and a dust collecting part, and corona discharge is caused by impressing high voltage on a discharge electrode of the electrification part, and particulate matter in exhaust gas entering from an inlet of the electric dust collector 15 is electrified, and the electrified particulate matter is collected in the electrode of the dust collecting part. The control device 13 calculates the ventilation air volume based on a predicted traffic quantity, a CO value and a VI value. A rotating speed of an air exhaust fan arranged in a ventilation passage is determined based on the calculated ventilation air volume. The control device 13 also determines impression voltage to be impressed on the electric dust collector 15 so that the ozone concentration of the ozone generated in the electric dust collector 15 becomes a predetermined value or less, based on the calculated ventilation air volume.
