    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric resistance welded steel pipe for an oil supply pipe, which can be worked to a desired shape of the oil supply pipe without generating any serious defect such as crack even under a severe working condition such as a complicated shape and large elongation.
      SOLUTION: A steel plate having a tin-zinc alloy coating layer 2 which comprises 70-99 mass% tin with the balance zinc and inevitable impurities and has a thickness per one side of 4-50 μm, formed on its surface is continuously formed into a steel strip. The electric resistance welded steel pipe 1 is manufactured by heating and welding edges of the obtained steel strip with the high frequency current. Further, reinforcement parts 5 of weld parts on inner and outer surfaces formed by the welding are removed to get a smooth condition. Thereafter, the rustproof treatment is applied so as to cover the removed part only on the outer surface side to get as the electric resistance welded steel pipe.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for inspecting defects in the weld zone of an electric resistance welded tube in on-line by which even minute weld defects termed as a penetrator and generated in the weld zone of the electric resistance welded tube can accurately be detected.
      SOLUTION: In the sizing stage of a manufacturing process of an electric resistance welded pipe in which a steel plate is made into an electric resistance welded pipe having a circular cross section through a roll forming stage, an electric resistance welding stage and the sizing stage, a deforming work is applied to the electric resistance welded tube having the circular cross section in a direction in which minute defects in the weld zone are enlarged with deforming sizing rolls. Next, after the deformed tube is restored into the tube having the circular cross section, the ultrasonic flaw detecting inspection of the weld zone is performed. Any of the sizing rolls composed of a plurality of stages is made into a deforming sizing roll for deforming the tube having the circular cross section into a tube having an non-circular cross section. In this inspection device, the ultrasonic flaw detecting device is installed on the side of the poststage of the deforming sizing roll.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a steel pipe for drawing with which the difference of the hardness between an electric-resistant welded parts and the basic material part, is little without developing local softened portion and a tubular product having high true circularity can be obtained in the case of performing the drawing processing. SOLUTION: The whole circulation of the electric-resistant welded steel pipe, is held for 1-20 sec by induction-heating in the temperature range of 600°C to A C1 point with an induction-heater and thereafter, rapidly cooled to the room temperature after slow-cooling to 400-600°C. Then, the steel pipe for drawing, in which the difference of the hardness between the electric-resistant welded part and the basic material part, is made to be ≤70% difference of the hardness without applying the heat-treatment (as-roll).
