    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal machining device which can perform an indexing turn of a horizontal attachment by use of rotation of a main spindle similarly to a vertical machine tool and in which increase of the number of components or complication of a structure is suppressed.SOLUTION: An attachment 1 of a horizontal machining device includes: a machine tool 2 having a horizontally extending main spindle 6 and a ram 7; and an attachment 3 attachably/detachably mounted in an end part of the ram 7. The machine tool 2 includes: a first grip part 31 pulling a main spindle connection part 11 of the attachment 3 into the main spindle 6 and gripping it; a second grip part 32 gripping a bearing part 14 of the attachment 3 while pulling the bearing part 14 in a direction to approach the ram 7; and press parts 33 allowing impartment of force for pulling the bearing part 14 in a direction to approach the ram 7 while gripping the bearing part 14 while the second grip part 32 transfers from a first state that the second grip part 32 pulls in and grips the bearing part 14 to a second state that the second grip part 32 releases the grip from the first state by pressing a casing 13 of the attachment 3 in a direction to come apart from the ram 7.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool in which a holding state of a tool holder or an adapter of an attachment can be correctly discriminated without being affected by elongation of a main spindle.SOLUTION: A spindle 2 of a machine tool 1 has a peripheral wall side through-hole 2d that penetrates through a peripheral wall 2b and communicates a center through-hole 2a with an exterior of the peripheral wall 2b. A detection object body 21 detected in position by an operation axis position detection sensor 20 is connected to a part of a first draw bar 16 of an operation shaft 13, the part being exposed to the exterior through the peripheral wall side through-hole 2d. The peripheral wall side through-hole 2d has an opening width W in an extending direction of a central shaft C, the width W being larger than a moving amount of the draw bar 16 between a holding state in which a collet 12 holds a pull stud 52 at a distal end of an adapter 51 of an attachment 50 and a hold-releasing state in which the holding is released. The operation axis position detection sensor 20 is disposed outside the peripheral wall 2b.
