    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure rotating and flying characteristics of a rotating sphere flying by use of a computer.
      SOLUTION: In the method for measuring the flying characteristic, reference attitude and position of a virtual sphere is set, and the relationship between a three-dimensional coordinate and a two-dimensional coordinate is previously derived using at least one photographing means. Using this relationship, a marked position of the virtual sphere on the three-dimensional coordinate is converted to a position on the two-dimensional image to obtain a two-dimensional virtual marked position. A two-dimensional image marked position of the sphere present on the two-dimensional coordinate is further obtained. The attitude and position of the virtual sphere is controlled with respect to the reference attitude and position so as to match the virtual marked position and the image marked position. Based on the amount of the attitude and position controls, the three-dimensional attitude and position of the sphere is specified. The rotating and flying characteristics of the sphere is calculated from the difference in the three-dimensional attitude and position beween one time and another time.
