摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating methane remained in a mixture gas. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for treating residual methane in a mixture gas having a temperature in a range of 200-500°C, and containing methane which concentration is at least in a range of 50-2,500 ppm and oxygen which volume is in a range of 0.5-12%. The residual methane is treated by plasma, having energy density in a range of 15-100 J/L which is generated in a plasma reactor 10 by impressing a high-voltage electric signal between an internal electrode 16 and an external electrode 12 of the plasma reactor 10. The external electrode 12 has a cylindrical shape and encloses the internal electrode 16. At least one selected from the electrodes generates a dielectric barrier discharge in the mixture gas and is covered with dielectric materials in order to convert a part of the residual methane to carbon monoxide.
