    • PURPOSE: To prevent the flowing-out of slag by giving rotating movement to molten metal in a cylinder at the bottom part of a vessel, measuring the molten metal surface level from the back pressure of inert gas blown from a porous refractory, etc., on the cylindrical wall surface and closing a sliding nozzle. CONSTITUTION: The rotating movement is given to the molten metal in a molten metal surface height measuring instrument 15 arranged at the bottom part of a ladle 7 with an electromagnetic stirring coil 1, and the inert gas 3 is blown from the ladle wall through a porous plug or a nozzle having many fine holes. The gas bubbles 8 are accumulated to near the center with a blowing gas centrifugal separator 2 and after floating up the gas bubbles, new molten metal is changed into the molten metal surface height measuring instrument 15. At this time, the molten metal surface height 10 is judged from the back pressure of the blown inert gas 3 continuously measured with a back pressure measuring instrument 4. When the molten metal surface 13 reaches the ladle bottom 9, the sliding nozzle 5 arranged in a long nozzle 6 is closed to prevent the flowing- out of the slag. By this method, the clean molten metal can be supplied into the solidifying process.

    • PURPOSE: To produce a copper alloy having high cleanliness in good yield by melting the copper alloy with an induction melting furnace in a vacuum vessel and continuously casting through a tundish under inert gas atmosphere with a siphon, at the time of melting and casting the copper alloy containing active metal. CONSTITUTION: The copper alloy layer containing the active metal of iron, etc., is charged into a crucible 3 in the induction melting furnace 4 fitted in the air-tight vessel 5, and after closing with a cover 35, evacuation is executed in the vassel 5. Successively, the electricity is conducted to an induction coil 2 arranged at the outside of the crucible 3 to heat and melt the copper alloy in the crucible, and the molten copper alloy 8 having slag layer 52 on the surface is formed. Further, the inert gas is pressed from a pipe 26 of a cover 25, and the molten copper alloy 8 is pushed up into a molten metal pouring chamber 31 under the inert gas atmosphere through the siphon 32 with the pressure. The molten copper alloy 37 is supplied into the tundish 44 under the inert gas atmosphere through a lance pipe 39 and cast into a continuous casting mold 51 from a bottom nozzle 48 while heating with an induction coil 4. The molten copper alloy is continuously cast under the high quality condition without oxidizing.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a continuous casting method for steel producing a high quality cast slab having little crack on the surface layer and little inclusion and bubble. CONSTITUTION: Electromagnetic stirring developing circular flow in the horizontal direction to the molten steel in a mold is impressed and also, the direction spouting flow 6 of the molten steel from an immersion nozzle is made into the direction which does not pass through the center axis of the immersion nozzle and the parallel direction to the long sides 1a of the mold in the case of seeing from the upper part of the mold 1. Further, the directions of the circular flow of the molten steel near a meniscus in the mold by the electromagnetic stirring and the spouting flow from the immersion nozzle are made mutually in the reverse direction at the same long side 1a of the mold seeing from the upper part of the mold. By this method, the cast slab having little crack on the surface layer and little inclusion and bubble can be produced, and a grinding and cleaning in the production process can be omitted and also, the product yield is improved.
