    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high efficient, light weight, compact fixed type constant speed universal joint that is specified for a rear wheel drive shaft, and shows a less amount of torque loss and less amount of generated heat.SOLUTION: A fixed type constant speed universal joint 1 is constituted such that a track groove 7 of an outside joint member 2 has an arcuate portion with a center of curvature having no axial offset in respect to a joint center O, inclines in a peripheral direction in respect to an axis line N-N of the joint and at the same time its inclination direction is formed in an opposite direction to each other in adjoining track groove 7 in a peripheral direction, a track groove 9 of an inside joint member 3 is formed in a symmetrical mirror image with the mating track groove 7 of the outside joint member 2 in reference to a plane P including a joint center O under an operation angle 0°, a pocket clearance δ between a ball 4 and a pocket 5a of a cage 5 is set to a positive value and at the same time at least the track groove 7 of the outside joint member 2 has a length corresponding to the maximum operation angle required for the rear wheel drive shaft.
