    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve deodorizing capacity by increasing the decomposition activity of odor with a photocatalyst in a deodorizing device provided with an air purifying means in which the film of the photocatalyst carrying a different kind metal is formed on the surface of a base material. SOLUTION: In this deodorizing device constituted so that air is sucked from a suction port 9 by driving a fan 8 and discharged from a discharge port 10 based on a signal from a control part 11 disposed at a main body 7, an air purifying means 14 in which the photocatalyst powder layer consisting of the TiO2 carrying the particulates of the different kind of metal such as Pt together with a binder is formed on the surface of the base material as a photocatalyst layer is disposed between the fan 8 and the discharge port 10, and the malodorous gas in the air is decomposed by the catalytic activity by receiving the irradiation of light from an irradiating means 13. Then, the reduction power of the photocatalyst is improved due to the electron capturing function of the different kind of metal and also malodorous components are efficiently decomposed and deodorized in a short time by making the humidity condition exhibiting good catalytic activity by a humidity sensor 16, a moistening means 15 and a moisture absorbing/releasing material 17 since the decomposition rate of the odor depends on the temp. of ambient atmosphere.
