CONSTITUTION: A metal tube 1 to be bent is passed a suitable heating device to locally heat in an annular shape and its working tip side is clamped 4A to an rotatable arm 4, while heating the metal tube 1 by a heating device, a heating part 2 is traveled in the longitudinal direction of the tube with a suitable traveling device, immediately after bending moment is imparted for deformation, the heated part 2 is cooled with a suitable cooling means. As soon as a bent angle is reached to a set value, the deflection between the metal tube 1 and a bending moment imparting device is released to the counter working side, the deviation between the set angle and bent angle of the tube is detected, the tube is again traveled up to the angle with the deviated angle added to the set angle to the working side or the counter working side and the bent angle is corrected.

A feed screw device 15, a connecting shaft 19 for driving the feed screw device 15, differential gear mechanism 24 that can add and subtract, and a radial feed motor 23 are further provided to move the tool rest 13 radially. The radial feed motor 23 is drivingly connected to the first input shaft 26 of the differential gear mechanism 24. The second input shaft 27 of the differential gear mechanism 24 is drivingly connected to the main spindle 5, and an output shaft 25 is drivingly connected to the connecting shaft 19. The rotation of the main spindle 5 and the radial and axial feed of the tool rest 13 can thereby be controlled individually by the respective corresponding motors 6, 23, 41.
