    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a machine for replacement which enable execution of recovery of an existing buried pipe without digging it up and crushing it, enable execution of long-distance propulsion and moreover enable execution of work, with no problem, even for an aquifer of which the level is high.
      SOLUTION: A starting pit 3 is dug at the position of the beginning end of the existing buried pipe 1 to be replaced, while an arrival pit 4 is dug at the position of the terminal thereof, and a shield pipe 5 and a temporary pipe 2 are propelled, in contact with the outer periphery of the pipe end of the existing buried pipe 1, by drive propulsion devices 6 and 6f provided in the starting pit 3. These operations are executed by a two-process method wherein a pinch valve 5c which sends a front material, a sludge material, air and others through a multiple swivel and makes them discharged from a prescribe part of the shield pipe 5, so as to prolong the distance of propulsion and to adapt the propulsion to the aquifer, and wherein the existing buried pipe 1 is passed through the inside of the temporary pipe 2 by each unit length, without crushing it, by the medium of a mechanism for holding and carrying it, transferred into the starting pit 3 and recovered outside the pit 3 and thereby the temporary pipe 2 is substituted for the existing pipe 1 and further replaced by a pipe 9 for replacement by an ordinary method.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an occupied work area of an inner excavation device by a bucket in a casing press-fitting device. SOLUTION: In this inner excavation device, a portal frame comprising a right and a left arms, and an upper beam is journalled at lower ends of the portal frame at one side part of the casing press-fitting device in such a way that it can be oscillated in a vertical surface, a drive means to oscillate the portal frame is provided, a wire connected to a winch at one end is suspended from a top sheave of the portal frame, and the inner excavation bucket or a single body of a casing is selectively suspended from the wire to be detachable. The portal frame is composed to be capable of oscillating in such a range as to be capable of moving the inner excavation bucket or the single body of the casing at least between a press-fitting center position of the casing press- fitting device and an outer position apart from the casing press-fitting device, and it is formed to have such inner size that the inner excavation bucket and the single body of the casing can pass through the inside of the portal frame when they are oscillated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out gripping surely without damaging a casing by a chuck spacer when biassed collision against the casing of the chuck spacer is generated due to the variation of the accuracy of manufacture. SOLUTION: The chuck is constituted so that one of the three chuck arms 16, 17 of a one-third arc mutually having arcuate inner circumferential surfaces having the same curvature is fixed onto a support frame, one end sections of the other chuck arms 17 are connected at both end sections of the fixed chuck arm 16 in a rockable manner on the same surface and the outer circumferential surface of the casing C is gripped by the inner circumferential surfaces of the three chuck arms 16, 17. The chuck spacer 32 of an approximately one- third arc, in which the radius of curvature of an outer circumferential surface is made slightly smaller than those of the inner circumferential surfaces of the chuck arms 16, 17 and the radius of curvature of an inner circumferential surface is equalized to that of the outer circumferential surface of the casing C to be gropped, is coupled with the chuck arms 16, 17 respectively so as to be able to be slightly rolled on the inner circumferential surface of the chuck arm 16 by the outer circumferential surface.
