    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the load that a tape receives and to enable stable traveling by applying a lubricant of the same kind as a lubricant contained in the magnetic powder of the tape or approximate thereto on a surface activated by irradiation of the contact surface with the resin molded tape with UV rays, thereby executing chemical bonding. SOLUTION: A shaft rod 22 of a drum 8 housed in a UV irradiation device 20 is rotated at a low speed and the drum is subjected to the activation treatment by uniformly irradiating the entire peripheral surface thereof with the UV rays of a short wavelength from a UV lamp 21. Next, the activated drum 8 is immersed into a lubricant soln. 24 prepd. by using the lubricant identical or similar to the lubricant contained in the magnetic powder of the magnetic tape and is thus coated prior to stabilizing of the surface. Consequently, the lubricant is chemically bonded as an intermediate group to the activated surface and the film of the lubricant of an extremely thin film below 100 nm is formed. The more than needed lubricant is wiped away by cloth, etc., after drying. As a result, only the film of the chemically bonded lubricant remains and the improvement in image quality and voices is achieved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely seek in a short time by switching a low speed binarization means and a high speed binarization means, calculating the number of tracks traversed by laser light based on the binary data and supplying a signal according to that to a moving means. The DSP 5 controls the number of moving tracks and the moving speed of the block 4 at the seek time based on the data D1. In such a manner, a magneto-optical disk driver 1 seeks the head part of the block 4 to a required track position on the recording surface 3A of the disk 3, and irradiates the laser light in the focal state.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase data without any remaining element to realize compatibility of recording medium between a low density and a high density recording/ reproducing apparatuses by radiating the high density laser spot for the erasing scanning for several times by changing the scanning position in the tracking direction to the data track recording the data in the low density. SOLUTION: When the track to be erased is judged as a low density recording track TkL, a high density recording/reproducing apparatus executes, for the pit PL of TkL, the first and second erasing scannings LS1, LS2 with the tracking bias voltage TOF in the tracking bias shift mode. In this case, in the LS1, TOF is added in the positive side, while in the LS2, it is added in the negative side to the tracking error signal TE to execute the erasing scanning under the condition that the tracking position is deviated to the upper or lower direction from the track center TC. Thereby, erasing of the low density recording data track can be realized without resulting in the remaining element and thereby disc compatibility can be realized between the low density and high density recording/reproducing apparatus.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a static characteristic after a jump operation by driving and controlling a moving means so that the moving direction of a beam spot is reversed when it is confirmed that the signal level of a tracking error signal reaches within a prescribed threshold. SOLUTION: A DSP 21 allows an actuator for tracking to move an objective lens so that the beam spot of a laser light beam L1 moves toward a target track by transmitting a control signal S5 to a tracking driving circuit 9. Next, the DSP 21 judges whether after the absolute value of the signal level of the tracking error signal to be supplied from an optical block 8 exceeds a threshold level, the absolute level reaches within the threshold or not. Thereafter, when the DSP 21 obtains an affirmative result, the DSP 21 reverses the sign of the control signal S5 to transmit it to the circuit 9. After this, the DSP weakens the driving output of the actuator for tracking gradually and completes the processing procedure of this operation mode when the affirmative result is obtained.
