摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reversible thermosensitive color developing composition holding stable color developability and discoloring properties, dealing with wide using and environmental conditions and particularly having rapid erasability by mixing an electron donative coloring compound with electron receptive compound represented by a specific general formula. SOLUTION: A reversible thermosensitive color developing composition is prepared by mixing with electron donative coloring compound and electron receptive compound of carboxylic acid compound represented by a formula I [is integer of 1 to 3, R1 is hydroxyl group, alkyl group, alkoxy group, halogen atom, or hydrogen atom, R2 is aliphatic hydrocarbon group having number of carbon atoms of 8 or more, X is a group represented by formula II (p, q are integers of 0 or 1, A is bivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group, B is a bivalent aromatic group which may have a substituent, or an aliphatic group, and Y, Z are bivalent groups including at least one hetero atom.)]. A recording layer containing this coloring composition is provided on a support to form a reversible thermosensitive recording medium.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To erase color of a reversible thermosensitive recording medium at an especially high speed according to a wide range use condiction and environmental condition by keeping stable coloring properties and color erasing properties by a method wherein a phenol compound expressed by a specific formula as an electron acceptive compound is used. SOLUTION: A phenol compound expressed by the formula as an electron acceptive compound is used. In the formula, X indicates a bivalent group including a hetero atom, R expresses a 8 or higher C hydrocarbon which may have a substituent, and n indicates 1 to 3. R may be either an aliphatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group, and may be composed of both of them. The aliphatic hydrocarbon group may be of linear chain or branched, and may have unsaturated bond. As the substituent fitted to the hydrocarbon group, there are a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, etc. Further, in order to form colored recording, the compound is quenched after heating at a temperature wherein it is once mixed by being melted with a thermal head or the like. In order to erase the color, the compound is slowly cooled from the heated state, or heated to a temperature slightly lower than the coloring temperature.

In addition, as a binder, various binders being usually used can be used. In addition, various thermoplastic substances can be used in combination as a sensitivity improving agent.

SOLUTION: These new N-(n-octadecylaminocarbonyl)peptide compounds are a new N-(n-octadecylaminocarbonyl)glycylglycine represented by formula I and a new N-(n-octadecylaminocarbonyl)glycylglycylglycine represented by formula II and capable of controlling thermal energy and forming and erasing a colored image and useful as a developer, etc., for a reversible heat-sensitive recording material responsive to a wide range of service and environmental conditions. The peptide compound is obtained by dissolving glycylglycine or glycylglycylglycine and sodium hydroxide in water, then completely distilling water away, providing a sodium salt, suspending the resultant sodium salt in methyl ethyl ketone, heating the formed suspension at 70 deg.C, adding and reacting n-octadecyl isocynate thereto under stirring.

At this time, used ratio of the developer to the coloring agent is preferably 2-10 based on 1 coloring agent.
