    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of NOX and to make it possible to stably burn with a high load by providing a recess at the upper surface of a burner body, perforating a plurality of burner ports on the wall surface in the recess, and injecting premixed gas mixed with the air of a specific ratio or less with respect to the theoretical combustion air quantity from the burner port. SOLUTION: A recess 3 is provided on the upper surface of a burner body 1 above which a material to be heated is disposed. A plurality of burner ports 4 are perforated on the wall surface in the recess 3, and premixed gas mixed with the air amount near the theoretical value (within ±30% of theoretical air amount) to the low pressure gas (300mmHg2 O or less) such as city gas is injected from the port 4. Accordingly, since the secondary air is hardly supplied to the space between the recess 3 or the upper surface 2 of the burner body 1 and a material to be heated during burning, the combustion is completed without supplying the air more than necessary but sufficient for the combustion to the flame. Therefore, the generation of NOX due to the excess supply of oxygen is suppressed to make it possible to stably burn at a high load.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the overflow of flame downwardly into the central cavity of a burner head by a method wherein the peripheral rim part of a flange for a tubular body, having a vent hole on the upper end surface and a flange on the lower end, is attached to the lower end of the burner head so that the tubular body is attached in the central cavity of the burner head and the upper end surface of the same is positioned so as to be lower than the flame port of the burner head. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal hollow annular burner head 1 is constituted of an annular main body 1a, whose upper surface is opened, an annular ceiling plate 1b and a cylindrical lattice 7, pinched between the main body 1a and the ceiling plate 1b while the cylindrical lattice 7 is structured by connecting upper and lower annular plates 7a through a multitude of vane plates 7b. Further, a tubular body 5, provided with an upper end surface 6a having a vent hole 14 bored thereon and a flange 5 at the lower end of the same, is fixed to the lower end of the inner wall of the cavity 3 through the peripheral rim of the lower end flange 5 thereof to establish the same at the center of the central cavity 3 of the burner head 1 while the upper end surface 6a of the same is positioned at a position lower than the lowermost end of the slit type flame ports 2. On the other hand, a venturi tube 8 is provided in the tangential direction of the annular main body 1a.
