    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining structure and method for large-sectional tunnel segments, which is improved in joining strength between a concrete structure and steel segment rings. SOLUTION: According to the joining structure and the joining method for the large-sectional tunnel segments, an upper cut-away front end 10a or a lower cut-away front end 10b of the steel segment ring 7a is mounted on a segment lower portion support surface 22a of a cogging portion 22 formed at a front end of each of a top board and a bottom board 12 of the concrete structure 11, and a joint plate 16 which is an upper cut-away front end surface of the steel segment 7 is abutted on a cushioning member 23 embedded in a segment cut-away end abutting surface 22b of the cogging portion 22. Then, the joint plate 16 is implanted in each of the top board and the bottom board 12, and an anchor bar 24 penetrating the cushioning member 23 is inserted into the joint plate 16, followed by clamping a fixing nut 27 at a front end screw portion of the anchor bar 24, whereby the upper cut-away front end 10a of the steel segment 7 is joined to each of the top board and the bottom board 12 in one body.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the manufacture of segments without requiring a high welding technique and dimensional precission of members by connecting a main girder to a joint plate through the wing plate of a T-shaped joint member. SOLUTION: In the steel segment 1, a rectangular parallelepiped opened at one end is constituted of side plates 2, a joint plate 3, and a skin plate 4 connected to the lower end face of the side plates 2 and the joint plate 3. Main girders 5 and vertical ribs 6 are disposed in the inside of the rectangular parallelepiped. The main girders 5 is provided with T-shaped joint members 7 at both ends of the main girder body 8 and the legs 10 thereof are fixed by full penetration welding and the wing plates 12 of the T-shaped joint members 7 are only attached to the inside face of the joint plate 3 made of a thin steel plate to connect both members. The vertical ribs 6 are disposed at right angles against the main girders 5. As the T-shaped joint member 7 may be brought into contact with the joint plate 3 or may be temporarily welded therewith, dimensional inaccuracy is hard to arise in respective members when assembling the segments 1 and a high skillfulness to cope with the jointing work is not required.
