    • PURPOSE:To reduce a plane light source in layer thickness and weight on the whole, to control the quantity of light and its wavelength according to the environment, and to increase the angle of the visual field by guiding the light from a light source to a light projection surface in a cylindrical lens shape efficiently through a light guide surface, a light guide part, and a reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:This plane light source consists of the light source A and a light projection part B consisting of the light guide surface 1, light guide part 2, light reflecting layers 4 and 8, and light projection surface 3; even if the thickness of the guide part 2 is made smaller than the diameter of a fluorescent lamp A, the light is reflected by the reflecting surfaces 4 and 8 and the angle of the visual field of a liquid crystal display 5 is increased by the light projection surface 3 having many cylindrical lens shapes 11. When the pitch of the lens shapes 11 is set to 0.01-10mm, the flatness of the light projection surface and light diffusibility to, specially, right and left are improved. The filter 9 is provided at the periphery of the light source to obtain the intensity and hue of the light freely. Thus, the light is guided to the light projection surface efficiently to increase the angle of the visual field, so that the plane light source is reduced in thickness and weight on the whole.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the angle of a visual field, to reduce layer thickness and weight, and to control the quantity of light and its wavelength according to the environment by guiding light from a light source to a light projection surface efficiently through the constitution of the light source and a light projection panel consisting of a light guide surface, a light guide part, a light reflecting layer, and the convex light projection surface. CONSTITUTION:The light source A and the light projection panel which consists of the light guide surface 1, light guide part 2, light reflecting layer 8, and light projection surface 3 are provided, and the light from the light source A is incident slantingly on the convex light projection surface 3 through the guide part 2 to increase the angle of the visual field of a liquid crystal display 5. An optical filter is provided at the periphery of the light source A to control the quantity of light and hue. Thus, the light from the light source is guided to the light projection surface efficiently to obtain the plane light source which is sized large and thin on the whole.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent sufficiently the contrast of a display from decreasing and external light from being reflected, and to prevent a screen from becoming dark by forming light transmission parts and light shield parts as projection parts and recessed parts of a plate which is made of a light transmissive material and has comb-shaped projection/recess section on a light projection side. CONSTITUTION:The plate which is made of the light transmissive material and has the comb-shaped projection/recess section on the light projection side has the light transmission parts as the projection parts 1 and the light shield parts as recessed parts 2 and the ceiling side 11 of each projection part is a light projection surface; one side 12 is linear and the other side 13 is curved to the outside. The external light LS incident on the display screen is absorbed by the light shield parts directly or after entering the light transmission parts, so it reaches neither the screen nor observer's eyes. Therefore, there is no decrease in contrast and images do not become hard to see owing to the reflection of the external light. Part of the light LD from the screen which is incident on a range shown by C reaches one side 13 of the curved line and the remainder enters the light shield parts and is absorbed, but the majority is reflected totally by boundary surfaces and guided to the light projection surfaces 11 of the light transmission parts to reach the observer's side.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a plastic type against deformation, crack and wear by such an arrangement wherein a material for forming plastic types is prepared with polyethylene resin of super high molecular weight as a main ingredient and glass fiber or carbon fiber is incorporated to into the resin. CONSTITUTION:As a forming material, a material primarily composed of polyethylene resin of super high molecular weight of 2-6 millions in molecular weight is used. By the use of this material, the forming material has such features as self lubricating property, wear resistance, solvent resistance and chemical resistance. The creep resistance for repeated impact of the material is raised by adding fiber materials such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, etc. and puluerized materials such as Al2O3, TiO3 etc. to the resin. Plastic types are formed by compression forming by using metal molds of flush type, positive type or semipositive type.
