    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining, in any operating environment and even in long-term use, a good image free of black spot-like defects on a white background part due to a charge leak, streak faults of halftone due to uneven discharge and void generation in transfer, and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer on a conductive support; a charging means for charging the photoreceptor with a projecting electrode; an exposure means for forming a latent image; a developing means for developing the latent image with a toner; and a supply means for supplying a lubricant to the photoreceptor, wherein a projection interval P of the projecting electrode is 0.5-3.0 mm, and when a cutting level c is considered to be c=20 (%/μm) in a roughness curve of a surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor measured with the projection interval P as an evaluation length ln, a load length ratio Rmr(c) is 1-20%.
