    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a photoelectric conversion element having high photoelectric-conversion efficiency; a method for manufacturing the same; and a solar cell using the photoelectric conversion element. SOLUTION: A semiconductor layer, containing an n-type semiconductor carrying a dye, and a solid hole transport layer are provided between a transparent conductive film and a counter electrode, both being formed on a substrate. The hole transport layer at least contains an aromatic amine derivative (A) having a hole-transporting ability, and hydrocarbon (B). The mass mole fraction of (B) is below that of (A). When each molecular weight of (A) and (B) is respectively set as M W (A) and M W (B), the photoelectric conversion element satisfies the following conditions: 400≤M W (A)≤2,000 and 2≤M W (A)/M W (B)≤10.
