摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a continuous steel segment heating furnace capable of heating steel segments without generating skid marks at a low manufacturing cost and operated at a low cost by forming a filling side of a furnace to a pusher type and a extracting side of a furnace to a walking beam type. CONSTITUTION:In an above described heating furnace, a steel material to be heated 8 on a fixed beam 2 is pushed by a pusher and when an end portion of a next steel segment 8a followed to a terminal end steel segment is reached to an end portion of a moving kid 7 for a walking beam designated at two points dashed lines, a pusher is stopped. Subsequently, a driving cylinder 6 is operated to lift a steel segment 8b by a skid 7 and move a skid 7 to only a distance W, thereafter a steel segment 8 on a skid 7 is put on a fixed skid 3 and a skid 7 is returned to a standby position. Next, after an end portion of a steel segment 8c is moved until reached to a position of an end portion of a skid 7, that is, a steel segment 8 on a beam is moved to only a width Wa, a steel segment 8 is moved by a skid. Hereinafter, by repeating this operation, a steel segment 8 at a filling side is conveyed by a pusher and a steel segment 8 at an extracting side is conveyed by a skid 7.

摘要： PURPOSE:To raise the durability of roller and cooling pipe without lowering the thermal efficiency of heating furnace by overcooling roller by the use of fats for cooling high-temperature roller used in heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:The roller 1 used in a high-temperature furnace, e.g., heating furnace, heat treatment furnace, etc., is cooled by passing a cooling medium through the hollow hole 2 bored in its longitudinal direction. The cooling medium used includes praffinic fats, olefinic fats, and alkyl phenyl fats, which are low in vapor pressure and also free of dissolved oxygen as seen in water, thus obviating the need for cooling apparatus and also protecting roller and cooling pipe from corrosion. In addition, the increase in heat loss in heating furnace and the lowering of thermal efficiency due to the overcooling of roller, as in the case with water, can be prevented.
