    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further miniaturize a seat belt retractor while flexibly and variously setting a limit load applied to a seat belt according to emergency situations. SOLUTION: A second EA (Energy Absorption) mechanism 41 is provided in a support shaft part 4a of a spool 4 coaxially with the spool 4. An energy absorption pin 64 of a third EA mechanism is fitted in an axial hole of the spool 4. In case of emergency, a torsion bar 7 is twisted and the energy absorption pin 64 is pulled out from the spool 4 to absorb the energy. Simultaneously therewith, in a state where the rotation of a second absorption member support member 44 is locked by a lever 50, a first energy absorption member support member 43 rotates to deform an energy absorption plate 42 and absorb the energy.
